About the area

Denia is a coastal city and region along Spain’s northern Costa Blanca. It’s closest airport is Alicante, about an hour’s drive south and where direct flights from the UK take under 3 hours. There are several beaches here, stretching for over 12 miles. The southern section is known as Las Rotas and is rockier, famous for its snorkelling and coves. Whilst the beaches of the north, known as Las Marinas, are larger with golden sands and loads of water sports – perfect for Alison and Gabriel. As well as boasting its own charming little port, Denia town itself also has pretty pedestrianised streets and squares filled with cafes and restaurants. The Montgo mountains create a dramatic backdrop to all of this and there’s national parks and hiking trials to explore there too.
