Karen and Richard’s first holiday together was to Cyprus 13 years ago. They’ve been coming back ever since, and love it so much, they even got married on the island. Now, they are ready to take the next big step of buying their very own holiday home in Famagusta for all their family to enjoy and they’ve asked property expert Jean Johansson for her help. With four children between them ranging from sixteen to twenty-seven they’re keen to find somewhere that works for everyone. Jean has 5 great options for their budget of £200,000 – but will any be perfect?
About the area
Cyprus is split into six regions, Famagusta being one of them, it’s pretty easy to get to, with flights into Larnaca, one of two international airports on the island. Most tourists head to the south of the region where a majority of the holiday resorts and some of the islands most popular beaches are located. Perhaps the best know spot is Ayia Napa, home to great nightlife and a lovely stretch of sand, but there are also some more laid back locations like Kapparis, a stretch of coast lined with bars and restaurants and Konnos beach, one of a number of lovely coves in the area.
