Ben Hillman jets off to the island of Mallorca to help engaged couple Carrie and Alex find their dream holiday home. Carrie and Alex first met five years ago and have visited Mallorca regularly ever since. They love the place so much they’re planning to get married here next year. About the area

Situated on the Spanish Balearic island Mallorca, flights from the UK to Palma airport take just over 2 hours, and you can drive to Cala d’Or on the south eastern coast in around an hour. Cala d’Or means ‘Golden Bay’ and is one of the prettiest towns on the island with five main beaches and picture perfect sandy coves adjoining the Mediterranean. It was originally a fishing village and has grown into a vibrant resort, yet still retains its authentic Mallorcan charm.
