Abruzzo, Italy - A Place in the Sun

Abruzzo, Italy, Craig Rowe

The search is on around Abruzzo in Italy for a holiday home for carpenter David from Suffolk. Craig Rowe is on a mission to find him a 1 bedroom apartment ideally near the beach. With support also coming from David’s best friend Lucy, Craig has lined up 5 great options for his £45,000 budget, but will any be perfect enough to put in an offer?

About the area

The Abruzzo region which includes the Trabocchi coast is in central Italy. Direct flights to Pescara airport take under three hours from the UK. There’s such a mix of landscapes in this part of Italy, with the Trabocchi coast stretching for over 40 miles with loads of sandy and pebbly beaches backing the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea. In fact, this coastline has more blue flagged beaches than any other in Italy. But there’s also the lush green mountains to enjoy in Abruzzo too. They’re dotted with charming and authentic villages bursting with Italian character and history. Then there’s of course the Appenines, with snow peaked caps and where a spot of skiing can be enjoyed too.
