Eastern Almeria, Spain - A Place in the Sun

Eastern Almeria, Spain, Leah Charles - King

Leah Charles-King jets off to Spain to help Annette and Malcom from Cornwall who retired 7 years ago. Now they’re ready to embark on a new adventure, by buying a holiday home in Almeria in South-East Spain where they can soak up the winter sun. Leah has five great properties to show them for their 200 thousand pounds budget–but will any be the dream property they’re looking for?

About the area

Almeria is a region in Andalucia in Southern Spain and has over 60 miles of coastline. As well as its seaside location there’s also dramatic desert-like landscape, creating unique and breath-taking views. Flights to Almeria airport take around 3 hours from the UK. We’ll be house hunting in the east of the region today, taking in towns and villages like Vera and Bedar which punctuate the surrounding countryside and are filled with historical delights to explore, as well as traditional cafes and restaurants backed by dramatic mountainous landscape. With 11 hours of daily sunshine in summer and a lower than average population Almeria really is the place to come if you’re after a warm, quiet and authentic Spanish experience.
