Alora, Spain - A Place in the Sun

Alora, Spain Scarlette Douglas

Julia and Warren from Sunderland are relocating to the stunning Andalusian countryside near the picturesque town of Alora. They think the region’s sunny climate will work wonders for their health and are looking for a cottage with plenty of outside space for fruit trees and keeping honey bees. They’ve called on Scarlette Douglas to help them find the perfect property for their £95,000 budget that she hopes will have them buzzing with excitement, but will they love one enough to fly in with an offer?

Alora, Spain

What's the appeal?

It's around a two hour flight from the Uk to Malaga airport and then it’s a 40 minute drive from there into the Adalucian countryside to Alora town. Alora itself is packed with whitewashed houses which sprawl up the hill to the magnificent remain of an ancient castle, the town’s economy is based on agriculture and the region is famous for fruit, olives and grape vines. Alora is a mainly Spanish working town, and it has it’s own festival known as the "Perotas Soup Day" dedicated to celebrating its most traditional dishes.
