Kassandra Peninsula
About the area
The Kassandra Peninsula is the westernmost of three peninsulas which extend out into the Aegean Sea – and it’s the most popular of the trio with holidaymakers, who come here from all over Europe; the population grows from around 3,000 in the off season to around 25,000 in the peak holiday period. According to Greek mythology, the area was a battleground used to banish the Gods from Mount Olympus. Now this very versatile area attracts tourists drawn to its mix of lively seaside towns, hidden coves and beautiful scenery.
