Estepona
About the area
Estepona is renowned for its beaches, which stretch along some 21 km of coastline, and is a popular resort and holiday destination. Estepona is one of the towns of the Costa del Sol that has been able to keep much of its typical Spanish charm and character, and has recently had a major face lift, with restored facades and pedestrian-friendly streets. Surrounded by the mountains of the Sierra Bermeja, Estepona has a pleasing micro-climate with around 325 days of sunshine a year. The Costa del Sol enjoys a sub-tropical Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and warm winters. Cooling breezes from the sea make the summer heat manageable, temperatures are an average of 32 ºC in summer.
