Lucy Alexander: A Place in the Sun TV Presenter

Lucy Alexander

Whilst Lucy Alexander is the latest presenter to join A Place in the Sun, she is probably best known for her role on the BBC flagship property show ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ which is in its 20th year.

After 12 happy years of presenting the Homes Under the Hammer and her obvious passion for property and lifestyle, Lucy moved on to front Channel 4’s ‘Bang on Budget’ showing off her interior's passion and flair.  ‘Best of Both Worlds’ soon followed, another property series, this time highlighting the benefits of town and country living.

You can currently see Lucy back on the BBC in the popular consumer show ‘The Customer Is Always Right’ which is airing its second series. And of course Lucy can still be seen on the Carpetright ads where she has been an Ambassador for 5 years.

A keen foody, Lucy enjoyed being a regular panellist on prime-time foodie show 'The Ultimate Taste Test' with Fred Sirex Jay Rayner & Michel Roux.

Alongside presenting property shows Lucy is a keen developer herself, renovating and building her own property portfolio over the years & more recently creating an adapted wheelchair-friendly family home in Surrey taking it from a demolition, to a plot, to a finished high-end home.

The family has dealt with a personal tragedy and shared their story on BBC1’s ‘Matron Medicine & me’ which was nominated for an RTS award. The documentary thanked the NHS for the support the family received when Lucy’s daughter Kitty became suddenly paralysed from a freak illness as a child when she was 7.

Lucy loves the Whitstable beaches and is currently renovating a seaside cottage on the Kent coast. She is a keen traveller having presented holiday programmes for Sky Travel over many years.

Lucy lives in Surrey with her daughter Kitty who is an actress, her son Leo a pro football player and her husband, former footballer Stewart Castledine.
