Camposol is a popular golf resort located 10 minutes from Mazarrón in Murcia. In terms of online searches on aplaceinthesun.com, Camposol is always in the top three for Murcia. Value and choice have a lot to do with it - there are more than 7,000 properties at Camposol, a modern purpose-built town that is home to an expat population of around 5,000 people, of 80 nationalities.

It’s popular because of its location as well as the choice of homes and amenities available.  The name means “countryside sun” and its situation on the Costa Calida, a region that offering more than 300 annual days of sunshine, and an average temperature of 21°C. It’s also easily reached from Región de Murcia International or Alicante airports.

Just 15 minutes from the historical town of Mazarron and the Gulf of Mazarron with its many beach resorts such as Puerto Mazarron, the historical town of Lorca (with its great market worth a trip) and a little further, the Mar Menor.

It has a great community and an atmosphere that is friendly and welcoming. The urbanisation has many bars and restaurants - including an Indian, steak restaurant and sports bar - as well as banks, a petrol station, a large supermarket, bodega, clothes boutique, a four-star hotel (with spa and gym) and of course an 18-hole golf course with a driving range and clubhouse.

As soon as you arrive there you will see that Camposol is divided into sections A to D, however section A tends to be the most desirable, being the original phase with a wide selection of amenities.

For those who like the support of a large Anglo-oriented expat community with golf and beaches close to hand, homes start from around €50,000 for a two-bedroom villa, €130,000 for a large two-bedroom, two-bath villa, or €175,000-plus for a three-bedroom villa with its own swimming pool.

What else to do there? Nearby there is the thermal spring at El Saladillo, is a short walk just along from B; there’s deep-sea diving at Cabo Tinoso and the famous pottery shops of Totana.

This resort suits anyone who loves golf, the anonymity of a large development with lots of amenities, but at a lower price point than other resorts such as nearby La Manga.
