It's good news for Brits today, as it was announced last night that Spain remains on the UK's amber travel list. This means that, if you're double jabbed and travelling to Spain, you won't be required to quarantine upon arrival back into the UK.
So, how easy is it to travel to Spain?
Spain is welcoming all travellers from the United Kingdom, so you'll be able to travel to Spain as long as you have either of the following:
- A vaccination certificate - demonstrating that you have received both doses of the vaccination, at least 14 days before you travel to Spain
- A diagnostic certificate - proving that you have had a negative COVID-19 test result issued within 72 hours before you travel to Spain

What is life like in Spain?
According to Spain's official tourism website, Spanish leisure and hospitality businesses are fully prepared to offer safe service (in the form of cleaning and disinfection, limited occupancy levels, and the use of face masks in enclosed spaces), and masks aren't required on the beach, during outdoor activities or for outdoor events.
Spain is also one of the European destinations with the highest percentage of adults who have received the full dose of the Coronavirus vaccine - by the end of the summer they are aiming for 70% of the population to have been double vaccinated.

A Place in the Sun's Group Commercial Director Mark Sutherland is also currently visiting Spain, he told us what it was like travelling from the UK:
"After buying a property last September via a virtual tour, I've been waiting to travel to Spain ever since. I have been double vaccinated, which meant I was able to travel more freely and all I needed to do was download my NHS COVID pass from the NHS app (I also requested a hard copy) and fill in the Spanish Healthcare form via https://www.spth.gob.es/create.
To keep everything in place, I uploaded both documents to the Ryanair app and had to show them when checking in at Southend airport and when I arrived in Spain.
In England, the use of masks and social distancing had been relaxed, but once in Spain, it was clear the Spanish were still keen on social distancing and wearing a mask indoors and some in public outdoor places. It felt much safer than the UK and despite it being holiday season, it was definitely much quieter than previous years."
