Girona has been named one of the best performing property markets in Spain by market research company, The Spanish Valuation Society.
Whilst the overall Spanish property market experienced a downward trend in 2011, prices in several towns in the province of Girona remained stable with increased demand from buyers in France, England, Scandinavia and Russia all of whom were attracted by the region's temperate year round climate, its proximity to the coast, the Pyrenees and Barcelona and the wide range of leisure, culture and haute cuisine available within the region.
The region was also recently named the best golf destination in Spain by Today's Golfer Travel Awards, and with recent research indicating that properties on or near golf courses are more likely to hold their value, now could be a great time to invest in the region.
