The priory was built in the 12th century by the Augustinians, uncloistered canons who prayed, worked and cared for the poor. The building was plundered, destroyed and burned during the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion, only to be abandoned and taken over by the Jesuits in 1661.
The 3-storey, 900 m² priory is composed as follows:
* On the ground floor, remarkable rooms in a very good state of preservation: chapter house or meeting room with its ribbed windows and mural paintings, sacristy, parlor, passageway to the fields, hospitium which once welcomed pilgrims to Compostela, monks' refectory and the former kitchen.
* The 1st floor is habitable and comprises 5 bedrooms or lounges, a kitchen and a shower room. Access to a lovely terrace with country views.
* 2nd floor suitable for conversion
